September 2021 – We did it and it worked!
Not content with resuming face to face breakfast networking in September 2021 at The Mix, our committee decided to run a hybrid version as well, with some people joining online via zoom.
Plenty of attendees, including guests, evidently couldn’t wait another minute for the Mix’s delicious breakfast – though it was hard luck for those who attended remotely!
10 minutes on the Chamber vision and identity
Our new chairman, Colin Tapscott, outlined how the committee has been clarifying and refining Stowmarket Chamber’s identity.
Using illustrations of famous logos (including Amazon, Google, Nike, Apple) Colin said each stands for something, as does Stowmarket Chamber.
He said there are two things that we do: Championing business and Connecting businesses.
This involves making sure people know about each other and communicating best practices and advice.
It follows, therefore, that we are supportive, approachable, and collaborative to help people’s businesses to grow and prosper.
To this end, the Chamber will not forget those that cannot get to the networking breakfasts, such as using the hybrid meeting and the chamber website.
For the future
We’re hoping both meetings will still be in person in October and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone face to face again. We are also offering the option of the breakfast meeting as a hybrid version. This means that members will be able to join via Zoom for those who are either unable to attend in person or are still wary of face-to-face meetings.
There will be more about this on the website and in our newsletters.
Chairman Colin Tapscott is always happy to receive any suggestions for what members want to see the Chamber doing in the future. Please send your ideas (and your wish lists) to [email protected].
