Stowmarket and Area Foodbank

Stowmarket and Area Foodbank

The Stowmarket and Area Foodbank was launched in October 2012 to provide individuals and families from Stowmarket and the surrounding areas who are in crisis with emergency food parcels. It is run in conjunction with other churches in the area, through Stowmarket Churches Together.

We work with local organisations to identify individuals and families who can benefit from our services (this also helps us reduce fraud).

We have collection points in, Asda, Tesco, and Solar in Stowmarket plus Morrisons Hadleigh and Co-ops in Needham Market, Elmswell and Haughley.

We have 35 professional referral agencies that send people to us in a time of crisis.  The summertime is the hardest time of the year for families in need as there are no free school dinners.  To combat this problem we run holiday lunch clubs every Wednesday and Friday to provide a free meal and friendship which caters for up to 50 people.
