The site on Needham Road in Stowmarket has been here for over 150 years. It has been making Dulux and Armstead paint and Cuprinol woodcare products here since the 1940s as ICI and now as AkzoNobel a Dutch-owned global paints and coatings company.
We employ around 100 people at the site making 85 million litres of paint every year! There is a great family feel to the site with many generations of Stowmarket people having worked here. We are proud of our high employee retention rates and since 2019 have been able to create 15 new jobs on site (15% more).
The future is really bright for AkzoNobel and Dulux – just take a look at those huge coloured silos alongside the rail line – you can’t mistake us for anyone else!
