August 2017: Two high spots at August’s breakfast
Mid Suffolk Business Exhibition
Danny Cuff, who is coordinating our first ever business exhibition, gave us more details on the arrangements for the Mid Suffolk Business Exhibition. It will be held at The Mix, Stowmarket, on March 21, 2018, from 9am-1pm.
He said that the aim of the event is to boost the profiles of both the Chamber and the Mix.
Exhibitors booking stands will also get free breakfast, refreshments and lunch. The event will also include two seminars which will be free to attend. Topics will be announced later.
Members of Stowmarket and District Chamber will get one month to book at a reduced rate of £45 from 1st September until the end of the month. After this booking will be opened to the general public. First at an early bird rate of £50 and finally at the full rate of £55.
Members will be informed when the special exhibition website is launched.
There will be opportunities for sponsorship and booklets were available at the meeting for members to give out to contacts they thought might be interested.
Stowmarket and District Food Bank
Breakfasters brought a selection of food donations for our chosen charity, which, as treasurer Kate Kelly said, struggles with demand during the school summer holidays.
This is the second year the Chamber has supported the Stowmarket Food Bank charity. So far this year, we have collected £111 in cash and food donations from the last coffee morning weighed in at 17.4 Kg.
