Some helpful business tips, a new father and no need for matchsticks!

It was back to the Golf Club this month for August’s networking breakfast, with new guests to welcome and some lively presentations so there was no need for our secretary’s promised matchsticks to prop open the eyelids.

Highlights of the presentations included Jim Darrah, of J-Jaz H & S training, warning that we all need to invest in a fire blanket in the kitchen and a demonstration of how to use one safely if needed.

Allan Scott metamorphosed into comedian Ronnie Barker, president of The Royal Society for Piss Minrunciation of Worms, to describe his business Mill House Media (at least we think that’s what he was on about!).

Steve Stoddart, of Wandering River Photography and Videography unintentionally became “straight man” for Alison Withers, of Multimedia Reputations, by getting his words in a tangle – a perfect introduction to her opening “do you know any business owners who know what they want to say but can’t find the right words?

Kim Morrison, of Morrison Social Media, is working with Sammy Teather, of Be Your Own Graphic Designer, on developing a course on how to use Instagram for Business.

The shortest presentation was from Brian Halliday, who announced his company’s new name – Halliday’s Property Maintenance and Landscaping. Clearly more to come on this one!

Peter's BeePeter’s Bees

The Queen Bee decided she didn’t like flying in wet weather so an unaccompanied Peter firstly congratulated Danny Cuff, of Gipping Press, and partner Cynthia who have become proud parents to Noah Miroslav, born just three weeks ago.

He also reminded us about forthcoming events that include a joint networking lunch with Suffolk Chamber at The Mix, Stowmarket on September 22, our Learn, Laugh and Loiter supper on September 28 and plans for a social event at Prezzo in October.
